  1. Tadpoles are the larval, aquatic stage of 
  2. amphibians, also called poliwog. Hatching
  3. from the egg, the tadpole is gill breathing
  4. and legless and propels itself by means of a
  5. tail. During METAMORPHOSIS it develops lungs,
  6. legs, and other adult features. 
  7. The FROG and TOAD loose their tails .
